Check out this video below. This is what I have been saying for a while and I am so glad that it has finally been said in mainstream media. Promoting bad behavior is not the message we need to be sending.

Dancing in the Moonlight?

I can’t help but think of that song from King Harvest that was used in a Walmart commercial last year:

I start the my 6 month run running the night shift at Walmart tonight. Being an assistant manager at Walmart, you have to serve your time on third shift (unless you work at a store where the night managers stay on nights permanently–more the exception than the rule). It has been a long time since I have worked the night shift but it is just like riding a bike. One thing is for certain, the “Night Crew” Walmart Ad is NOT the way it is at night. They show it as being more of a party than work. But the truth is the night shift is what makes or breaks a store. The amount of stocking that has to take place at night is very high in order to keep the shelves stocked for he duration of the day.

UPS can’t handle the snow and ice!

Just got an email from Amazon.com on a order I placed. The email stated that my shipment would be delayed due to weather or natural disaster. Here is a portion of that email:

Hello from Amazon.com.

We’re writing about the order you placed on January 25 2009 06:41 PST (Order# xxx-xxxxxxx-xxxxxxx).

Delivery of your package has been delayed due to weather or a natural disaster. UPS will deliver the package as soon as possible. We apologize for this unavoidable delay and appreciate your patience.

The United States Postal Service says it will still continue to deliver in the rain and snow but I guess the guys at UPS can’t handle it.
